FIFTEEN OF THE BEST

Well! That was really Quite Something.

Thankyou, very much, if you were There. Not sure how I am going to sum all that up... not easily, that's for sure. So many highlights, which I will attempt to expand on in due course. Photos can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, a couple of current affairs that we will be focussing on fixing.

Firstly, it was a messy Meredith. Too much rubbish on the ground during the festival, too much left behind afterwards. That will need some attention, and will get sorted.

Also, The Sup' seemed a little too full at times. After last year's 100-year storms, it seems more people brought more stuff this year – more cars, more tents, more furniture, more communal structures etc. All this takes up more room. But even then, it just seemed a little full, and that led to things not being quite as sweet as they should be. That will also get fixed next year.

TICKETS
It's worth making the point that demand for tickets is getting more intense every year.

Two years ago, all tickets sold out in ten weeks. Last year they all sold out in ten days. Next year we expect that trend will continue, and they will sell out even faster, perhaps in a matter of days, perhaps in a matter of hours, it's hard to predict. It seems there are currently about three times as many people who want to come to Meredith as there are tickets. We would like the tickets to end up in the hands of the people who usually go, and their friends (no dickhead mates of course), and any good new folks who wish to sample Meredith's delights; the types who can enter into proceedings in the right spirit. Shoes off at the door, firm handshake to the old man, tidy desk, macrobiotic diet, that sort of thing. To that end, we will be reducing the amount of fuss we make nationally (less advertising) and hoping to lure our usual weird and wonderful crowd. Sweet.

LINEUP OF ARTISTS
We’ve got some very good ideas about who should play this year. If you’ve got any ideas at all, please let us know via The Survey. Thought this year had some incredible stuff across the whole three days, but we aim to improve in a couple of areas this year. It got out of shape once or twice.

The Plan next year is to make the whole thing sweet. Back to basics. Get the thing Just right. The total crowd size will reduce a little. You may have heard rumours about all sorts of Meredith expansions – things like a second Meredith, staged on the following weekend (two weekends in a row), another festival at a different time of year. A different event at the same site. All these things have crossed our desk. Some were our ideas. All have been given due consideration. None will eventuate in the coming year. There will simply be one Meredith at the usual time and place, in the usual extraordinary manner, for the usual extraordinary people. Sweet.

We read and consider every suggestion, so please do take The Survey if you want your opinion counted.

WHAT ELSE?

That’s about it isn’t it?

Yes it is.

Hopefully we will see you in The Supernatural in December.

Love

Aunty Meredith and team of minions.
